IIOA
Client: IIOA
Project: Rebrand and website
iioa.global
Originally founded in 1993 as the IIOC (Independent International Organisation for Certification), the IIOA is a strong, credible network of global assurance bodies drawing the worlds of standardisation, certification and accreditation closer together to benefit the business community.
In recent years the brand had become dated, with the original IIOC acronym now more synonymous with a criminal activity. It was therefore deemed necessary to change the name, going with a subtle tweak to the acronym to help retain some of the recognition gained over its years of work within the industry. IIOA was born.
To coincide with the name change, it was an ideal opportunity for a change of visual direction - to create a brand that was more relevant to the industry that they served, and would help bring a new level of trust and authority to their customers.
After exploring different ways to represent accreditation in a graphic device, we settled on a simple ribbon, always locked to the top of the page, housing IIOA, and removing the full description from the logo to encourage the use of the more memorable acronym.
The new identity was rolled out across a revamped website, marketing touchpoints, stationery, and a brand guidelines document provided to help maintain visual consistency across their global network. The brand has been well received and has helped grow the credibility of the organisation within the industry.
